FrostHacks 2024: A 36-Hour Hackathon of Creativity and Collaboration

This November, the Academy of Technology in West Bengal will host FrostHacks 2024, a 36-hour in-person hackathon organized by Cloud Native Hooghly (CNH). This event invites students and tech enthusiasts to come together, brainstorm, and build innovative solutions to real-world challenges. If you're passionate about technology and love solving problems, this is the perfect opportunity for you to put your skills to the test.

What’s a Hackathon?

At its core, a hackathon is a Hacking Marathon—a fast-paced event where participants form teams to develop solutions using technology within a limited timeframe. FrostHacks will focus on pressing issues in areas like education, healthcare, the environment, and artificial intelligence.

What makes this event even more exciting are the Open Innovation tracks and special Sponsor Tracks, offering additional challenges and rewards for participants who want to take their projects to the next level.

How FrostHacks 2024 Will Unfold

The hackathon is structured into several phases, each designed to guide you through the experience, from brainstorming to project completion:

Registration

First things first—sign up through the Devfolio portal, providing your personal details, team name, and links to your GitHub, LinkedIn, or other profiles. Since offline hackathons have limited capacity, it’s best to register early to secure your spot.

Opening Ceremony

Once the event begins, teams will arrive with their laptops and essentials like chargers, headphones, and water bottles. You’ll be assigned a table or room, and the opening ceremony will feature speeches from the organizers and mentors to kick off the event and inspire the teams.

Hackathon Phase

This is where the magic happens. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, teams will dive into coding and building their projects. To keep things lively, there will be workshops, seminars, and games, as well as networking opportunities with mentors and fellow participants. Judges will evaluate the projects based on how effectively they solve problems and their overall technical innovation.

Closing Ceremony

After the coding ends, the best teams will be awarded prizes and cool swag. Everyone who participates will also receive a certificate as a recognition of their efforts. The event will wrap up with final speeches from the organizers, sending everyone home with a sense of accomplishment.
